ScreamBook Privacy Policy

Overview
ScreamBook does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your reading experience is entirely private and stays on your device.
Data Stored on Your Device
ScreamBook stores the following data locally on your device to provide its core functionality:
- Reading preferences (font size, theme, margins)
- Bookmarks and highlights
- Reading positions and progress
- Imported EPUB books
This data never leaves your device. ScreamBook does not have servers, and no data is transmitted over the network.
No Analytics or Tracking
ScreamBook contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no behavioral tracking, and no advertising frameworks. The app's privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking = false with no tracking domains and no collected data types.
No Account Required
ScreamBook does not require a login, email address, or any form of personal information. You can use the app fully without providing any identifying details.
In-App Purchases
ScreamBook offers in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple's App Store. ScreamBook does not process, access, or store any payment information. All purchase transactions are managed by Apple under their own privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
ScreamBook relies on two third-party components:
- Apple App Store — for processing in-app purchases. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- ZIPFoundation — an open-source library used for local EPUB file extraction. It operates entirely on-device and makes no network requests.
Data Not Backed Up to iCloud
EPUB resources and extracted book content are explicitly excluded from iCloud backup to minimize your iCloud storage usage. Your reading preferences may be included in standard device backups.
Children's Privacy
Since ScreamBook does not collect any data from anyone, it does not collect data from children either. The app is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Since ScreamBook does not collect email addresses or contact information, changes cannot be communicated directly.
